Llangynwyd Rangers FC
Llangynwyd Rangers FC is a well‑established and valued community football club, providing training, matches, and development opportunities for adults, boys and girls across the local area. As the club continues to grow, ensuring that its playing and training facilities are fit for purpose is vital to supporting its long‑term sustainability and the wellbeing of its members.
In 2024, the Resilient Communities team commissioned and funded a feasibility study, delivered by V15 Consulting Ltd, to support Llangynwyd Rangers FC in planning for the future of their home ground. The purpose of this study was to provide an independent, evidence‑based assessment to inform the development of improved playing and training facilities, address current challenges, and assist the club in preparing future applications for grant funding.
The feasibility report outlined a range of potential improvements and highlighted several priority actions needed to enhance the quality, safety, and usability of the pitch. One of the options identified was the need for drainage works and turf improvements, essential for ensuring the playing surface remains safe, resilient, and suitable for year‑round use.
Following this recommendation, the Club submitted an application to the Resilient Communities capital grant scheme to support the installation of new drainage infrastructure and associated turf enhancement works. The application was approved, enabling the Club to proceed with these vital improvements.
Thanks to this investment, Llangynwyd Rangers FC has now implemented upgraded pitch drainage and turf improvements, helping to create safer, more reliable, and better‑quality facilities for all players. These works mark a significant step in strengthening the Club’s long‑term resilience and ensuring it can continue to provide valuable sporting opportunities for the community.
