Arts Mapping

Reach worked with Creative Lives Ltd to undertake a mapping and research exercise that highlighted local creative activities taking place around Bridgend. The project conducted research with a survey, facilitation of focus groups and one-to-one interviews; the results were collated and presented in a full report.

A previous study from 2017 showed that at the time it was estimated that there were around 90 arts and crafts groups in Bridgend. This data is historical and did not include informal groups and was subsequently affected by the disruption of the pandemic.

Local creative groups have a considerable amount to contribute to the fulfilment of the Well-being of Future Generations Act. The untapped potential of the creative groups in Bridgend could be better realised if they were more connected to each other and to public bodies.
