KPC Youth

KPC Youth is a multi-activity centre for young people, operating in an area of high deprivation in Bridgend. The centre offers an affordable option for children and young people to access a range of physical, creative and social activities, with support and guidance available from youth workers and volunteers.
The team at KPC identified the need to improve or expand some of the facilities and resources available at the club, in order to comply with insurance terms and to expand the potential usage of the building.

In July 2025, the team at KPC Youth applied to the Resilient Communities Capital Grant Scheme to support the plans to improve the facilities, and once the grant application was approved by the Reach team, the team were able to begin purchasing the equipment they had listed.

The funding helped to increase participant engagement and broaden the services available to external organisations renting the premises. The Smart TV and laptop benefitted the young people accessing the club during the day by providing alternative education and engaging experiences, and the club are taking more requests for room bookings as a result of the improved digital resources.
The purchase of helmets has enabled more young people to access the skatepark, encouraging excerise, health and wellbeing, and the purchase of Bluetooth speakers and microphones has inspired musical creativity – two young members even ventured on an exchange trip to the Goethe-Institut in Germany to make a music video as a result of their passion for music, drama and performance.
