Llangynwyd Rangers Community Project

The Reach team are working with Llangynwyd Rangers to commission a feasibility report and masterplan to enhance community and sport provision at Llangynwyd Playing Fields, including improved playing, training and social facilities.

The feasibility study will provide a phased facilities development plan to build upon the recent investment from the Cymru Football Foundation to reconfigure and extend the existing building on site, to provide additional changing facilities.

The Club provides opportunities for children, young people and a growing number of female players to participate in local organised outdoor physical activities and have an extensive mini and junior section, 4 junior girls teams, 2 senior men’s and one women’s team.

The FAW have provided Environments for guidance to better support women and girls participation whilst using sport facilities.  The ongoing project to improve the changing facilities at Llangynwyd Playing Fields will go some way to addressing this guidance.  However, it is clear from discussions with female members that improvements are still needed in terms of playing and training facilities to retain players and grow the membership further.

Following initial conversations with potential funders including the Football Association of Wales, Sport Wales and the Welsh Government, there are opportunities to attract significant external funding to contribute towards the capital costs associated with delivering the phased masterplan produced as a result of this project.
