Maesteg Cricket Club

Maesteg Cricket Club is a well-established club in the heart of Maesteg. The Club has 12 active teams, and strives to nurture local talent, promote health and wellbeing, and engage with the community.
The clubhouse was officially opened in 1996, and the men’s toilet facilities have remained largely unchanged since then. The committee recognised the need for repair and modernisation in order to ensure the facilities are safe, hygienic and accessible.

In July 2025, the Club applied to the Resilient Communities Capital Grant Scheme to support the funding of the refurbishment works, and once the grant application was approved by the Reach team, the committee were able to schedule a contractor to undertake the project.

The work was completed in December 2025, with minimal disruption to the ongoing running of the club. The upgraded facilities have had a direct impact on the players, members and supporters, and the clubhouse can now be offered for community use. The welcoming and fit for purpose facilities encourage greater engagement from local groups and residents, and has the potential to serve an even broader audience as a safe, inclusive and well-equipped community hub.
